About Hybrid Hatchery
We're a small, independent game studio. We make games and creatures out of parts that don't usually go together, then see what hatches.
The name
A hatchery is where new things come out of their shells. "Hybrid" is what we like to make: dogs crossed with dragons, cozy pet care mixed with adventure, pixel art softened into round, friendly shapes. Put together, the name is our job description.
Meet the hatchling
Our mascot is a dragon-dog fresh out of his egg. He has teal dragon skin, little gold wings, orange dog paws, one floppy orange dog ear and a golden dragon horn that doubles as an antenna.
The pink waves coming off that horn are a signal going out to anyone who wants to play. That's how we think about every game we release.
What we're making
Our first game, There Will Be Dragons (and Dogs!), hatched in October 2026. It's a virtual pet game you can play in your web browser. More games are incubating now, and we're starting to experiment with mixed reality on Meta Quest.
How we work
We keep things small and hands-on. Ideas start as quick experiments, the fun ones get built out, and we keep improving them after they launch. Feedback from players goes straight into what we make next.
